Saint Katharine Drexel statue has arrived!

Just in time for Saint Katharine Drexel’s feast day, March 3, the parish has received a beautiful statue of our patroness. Originally installed in the welcome area of the Saint Katharine Drexel Mission Center and National Shrine in Bensalem, PA, the statue portrays Mother Katharine with two children, a Native American and a Black American, representing her special ministries. With the closing of the Shrine at the end of December, 2017, we are able to preserve this wonderful artifact.
We were also privileged to receive the tapestry which was displayed from the balcony of Saint Peter’s in Rome at Saint Katharine’s Canonization on October 1, 2000. We are consulting with professional textile conservators for the best way to preserve, protect, and display this marvelous tapestry.
