August 15, 2018   – Assumption of Mary into Heaven

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With the release of the Attorney General’s Report now in our hands, released this past week, (on the parish and Diocese website) we turn to the Lord for healing, strength, courage and the grace of perseverance in the walk of discipleship and ministry.  This is “one, if not the darkest days of my Priesthood and life”.  I’m sure I share with you, the People of God, your deepest emotions that go beyond anger to being “enraged” at this report. Our emotions of anger, distrust, hurt, frustration and the need for repentance and contrition are somewhat overwhelming.

With the release of this report, we turn to the Lord who is our Divine Physician and Healer, and we lift our hearts and prayers for all survivors and their families, all victims of abuse and violence, the Church here in Harrisburg and throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We also pray for our Bishop, Priests, Deacons, Consecrated Religious and the lay faithful of our Diocese. Let us truly pray for one another before the Lord.

Please consider joining us for opportunities of prayer and healing and rites of reconciliation and healing.

Tuesday August 14 – the Attorney General Report is released

Friday August 17 – Mass at the Cathedral at 12N for Healing and Reconciliation with Bishop Gainer

Sunday August 19 – 9AM Mass here at St. Katharine Drexel; prayers for healing and reconciliation

1PM – Adoration to follow with Benediction at 4PM.

Please take time to pray and heal! Let us grieve, express our sorrow, come together and turn to the Lord. Let us love as Jesus loves us! “The Lord is kind and merciful and full of gentleness and compassion. He is merciful and just”! Amen!

“Pray for me as I pray for you”.

Please know that I am here for you anytime for listening, counseling, confession, prayer, etc.

Anyone who has been abused, please call the AG Hotline or Diocesan Hotline immediately. We stand with you!

Your brother in Christ,

Kenneth
