Harrisburg Young Adult Catholics Explore Genuine Gratitude at November’s Meeting

Harrisburg Young Adult Catholics – Theology on Tap

Join us for another bring-your-own-picnic lunch on Sunday, November 15th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the gazebo behind Saint Joseph’s in Mechanicsburg. Last month’s picnic went really well so we’re looking forward to doing it again!

We’ve been confined to our homes, staying safe from the virus, and tensions are mounting in our society. We might be feeling overwhelmed, but God is always sending blessings our way. In this talk, we’ll open our hearts to those blessings. We’ll explore the wisdom of the American Blessed, Fr. Solanus Casey, learn how to honor God with our gratitude, and steer clear of the all-too-common and spiritually deadly gratitude practices that are being promoted by advocates of alternative spirituality. You’ll learn how Warren Herman once practiced this false form of gratitude while trapped for years in the New Age movement. However, you’ll see how to be grateful in a way that fills your heart, instead of feeding the flesh. You’ll be better able to keep your eyes on the good God and appreciate his gifts, so that you can better face the challenges of life.

After seeing the scope of the New Age movement’s danger, Warren Herman returned to the Catholic faith. He now operates as a spiritual deception educator, advocating a return to traditional Catholic spirituality. He does so by giving talks and on his social media pages, St. Michael Ministries for Spiritual Deception Education, From New Age to True Faith, and the Real Presence Prayer Group.

Please bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy during Warren’s talk, if you wish, or you can come just to listen. We will be meeting outside near the gazebo which has plenty of lawn space for blankets and chairs.

Out of respect for the parish and diocese, we ask that everyone wear a face mask (except when eating) and practice social distancing.

The gazebo is located at the corner of E Keller and S Chestnut Streets at the parish rectory. Parking is available in the church parking lots or along the street.

Since this is an outdoor event, we will cancel if the forecast calls for rain. Our rain date will be November 22nd, if necessary.
