Corpus Christi Novena Prayer – May 24 to June 1

This year, the feast of Corpus Christi occurs during the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage that culminates with the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. The Feast of Corpus Christi calls us to remember Jesus’ gift of Himself in the Eucharist – His Body and Blood. Our Patroness, Saint Katharine Drexel, understood and lived out the meaning of this Sacred Gift. Mother Katharine’s intimate encounter with Jesus in every Eucharist animated her life’s ministry as she gifted herself and resources to others.

As you pray the Corpus Christi Novena over the course of the nine days, unite your heart in prayerful support for all pilgrims of the Church. Your prayers become the living Body and Blood of Christ in your daily actions, words and sacrifices. You are asked to pray this novena from May 24 through June 1.

CORPUS CHRISTI
NOVENA PRAYER

O Holy God
although time and again
we break your covenant,
You have bound the human
family to Yourself through Jesus
Your Son, our Redeemer,
with a new bond of love so tight
that it can never be undone./

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,
And are ceaselessly at work,
so that the human race may
become holy as you are holy.
Grant that by the power
of the Holy Spirit,
as we have partaken of the
one Bread and one Chalice,
we may be gathered
into one Body in Christ
who heals every division.

Through the power of Your love,
help us to be of service
to each other as we entrust
ourselves more fully to
the Holy Spirit.
