Dear Members of St. Katharine Drexel Parish Family,
Greetings and the Lord’s Peace and Blessing! Know that you and your families are in my daily prayers.
During this time of national and global emergency and pandemic, we have learned a new reality of being family and being connected although we are distant and separated due to social distancing and isolation.
We are also learning that “CHURCH is not a place but an identity and a sense of belonging and community.” CHURCH is a family of families and a domestic church in communion with one another.
Our country has asked us to participate in a national census program “to be counted” which affects representation in Congress as well as financial assistance etc.; please participate in this month’s program.
Our parish will also participate in a CENSUS PROGRAM as we move forward regarding parish membership, budget, and fiscal responsibilities and building community and communion.
Please let us know your continued intention to be a member of our parish family and to be good and faithful stewards of time, talent and treasure and to be an active disciple.
Please read and reflect on the enclosed “Pastoral Letter” and its invitation and challenge for the future as we build the” CHURCH AS A COMMUNITY OF FAMILIES – THE DOMESTIC CHURCH”.
We are called to grow and be transformed!
In this time and place, we are encouraged to “bring our parish from maintenance to mission as we undergo the process of “Divine Renovation” and enter a process of transformation and move forward to a “future full of hope and life”.
We will enter a time of prayer and reflection, study and discussion and then into a parish gathering and then be sent out to be a “Beacon on the Hill” here in Silver Spring Twp. in Cumberland County.
May the Lord Jesus bless each of us and our desire to grow as “intentional disciples” and to live the Good News as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Here is an overview of the process in which we invite every member and household to participate.
Peace and every grace and blessing!!
In His Love and mine, your Brother in the Lord,
Fr. Ken
